Royal Marines from 42 Commando take part in an exercise at Barry Buddon simulating an attack on shores of a hostile country on April 12, 2013 in Carnoustie, Scotland. The exercise is part of Joint Warrior which will run from the 15 to 29 April in locations across the UK, involving UK forces and international allies in all aspects of warfare.

Do the royal marines get issued a different model of SA80? they certainly don't look like the standard m2's

to answer my own question ,no they are the standard SA-80 A2 ACOG or the SA-80 A2 ACOG UGL

At an altitude of 6000 metres (19,685 feet) Royal Marines of M Company, 42 Commando trudge through deep snow during Exercise Himalayan Warrior 07 amidst the stunning scenery of the Himalayan mountain range in India.

Occasionally tethered to each other in the face of treacherous deep crevasses, the men were part of the first contingent of British Forces to train on the ground with Indian troops in over 60 years.

Guided by the Royal Marines own specialised Mountain Leaders, the exercise was used to practice cliff top assaults and improve drills for operating on ice.

Royal Marine Offshore Raiding Craft (ORC) patrolling HM Naval Base (HMNB) Clyde.

These fast and manoeuvrable craft are tasked with escorting Royal Navy Submarines to and from their berths at Clyde, Scotland.

Royal Marines performed a stunning sunset parachute drop over Denmark as the UK’s key military deployment of the spring moves up a gear.

Leaping from just 800 feet, the men of the elite Pre-Landing Force, 30 Commando, landed outside the small town of Varde in western Jutland.

After a 90-minute flight in a C130 Hercules from RAF Brize Norton, the Plymouth-based commandos jumped over their dropzone using special low-level parachutes, landing on their target with pinpoint accuracy at twilight.

The drop is just one element in the opening stages of the two-month-long Baltic Protector deployment, led by Britain and involving more than half a dozen nations which border either the Baltic or North Seas.
