Russian Aircraft Carrier Admiral Kuznetsov

Sure seems like a lot of pics of Russian carriers making a lot of smoke.

It was a point of pride with the fireroom crews on US "oil burners" -- "30 knots - no smoke". Smoke, either black OR white, was highly frowned upon, especially during flight ops.

No idea what this is about in the hangar bay. It says H2O on the drum, but it sure doesn't look like it.

As most people that know me also know of my "Tomcat" fetish, I personally think the Tomcat was the best fighter ever built and yes I know the issues with maintenance were a pain in the butt. But for all the upkeep the Tomcat came out in front, and is still in my humble opinion a fighter / bomber that could still play a role in Navies around the world today. Just before they retired them Grumman had an upgrade on the drawing board but due to the cost it never got off the ground. So sit back and enjoy some TOMCAT pictures.
