My French comrades, I love looking at the photos you post but could you PLEASE post at least some explanation as to what we are looking at and where etc, it all looks very interesting but I have no idea what I'm looking at! Keep up the good work

Sorry mate, I will try to do better...but I am afraid that I still have thousands of pics stored away on my HD without any explanations. For many of them I won't be able to remember what they show :-(

The 3me REI is based in the "Quartier Commandant Forget", in Kourou, in the "Guyana Française" - French Guyana. Their main mission is the protection of the "Centre Spatial Guyanais", the ESA facility, where the European Arian rockets are launched. Other missions are interdiction of illegal mining and drug-trafficking. The regiment his also well known for running the Centre d'entraînement en forêt équatoriale (CEFE), one of the toughest military Jungle Schools.

Please note that he instructors of the CEFE, a very few officers, the rest all senior NCO Légionnaires, do not wear the "Centre-Europe" camo but US BDUs in tiger stripe camo.

"Parachutistes" of the 2me REP training at "Camp Rafali", Calvi, Corsica. The training objective is to learn how to collect intelligence after a combat operation, analysis of the enemy weapons equipment and ammunition, search for documents etc.

Okay that was excellent mate...thank you!! Very interesting but I do have some Q's mate:do not wear the "Centre-Europe" camo but US BDUs in tiger stripe camo. Why is that??? Just to stand out against the French forces or is there some purpose to that?
NEXT Q: I have to ask, what is going on with the chap roped up on the pole?? I'm not sure if that good or bad...... ??

The chap roped on the pole is part of a gruelling test. The guy on the pole simulates a wounded comrade, the other trainees have to evacuate him across a jungle obstacle course. At the end of the course the pole has to be raised vertically. The aim Is to test the candidates ability to work as a team. Have a look at 3:30.
