Photos My Modelling Years

...Paris!! ''nuff said''.

...so the middle fasad I found in a second hand store along with a set of tea cups with different buildings on them. The middle one is a solid one piece casting, porcelain I think and the two outer buildings I scratchbuilt, the glass had to go in early as the inside curtains had to be painted on the inside of the glass to appear to be hanging in front of the windows.

...this set of pics have been taken by various photographers and they always look different according to their cameras used. Now the Bofors gun is a kit and I chose to use the electrical version because this was about the time when my hands were not cooperating so could not finish the manual sighting however I did manage to scratch the CMP first! This was an absolute pleasure to build as this truck is one of my favourites!

...many many moons ago like back in the 70`s I was at home lounging around just listening to you got it 70s rock from LP record. My wife was out shopping at a nearby strip mall. She came home with the usual groceries and something else. Now she new I had grownup as an Army brat so she stopped in at the one and only hobby store in the city to see what they had and low and behold there was a Military Modeling Mag on a book rack, she bought it then the owner of the store said'ya know we have this kit on this cover if your interested right over here',she bought it!! So that`s the story of how I got started in the hobby ,oh ya the vehicle on the cover was the Katyusha Rocket Launcher!

i started in the mid 80s and i subscribed to military in scale magazine ... small scale modellers like Alex Clark was my inspiration and he still is

...geez,I haven`t seen any of those mags in centuries, haven`t got any you`ve read to death and are ready to pass along?

...geez,I haven`t seen any of those mags in centuries, haven`t got any you`ve read to death and are ready to pass along?
i got rid of my magazines years ago taking up way to much space .... but Alex Clark is still churning out amazing builds mostly T-64s, T-80s and T-72s ... his level of detail you would think they were 1/35 builds

...that`s a shame Tizer cause there`s valuable stuff in them mags, which is what I`m all about! On that note if you all are wondering what happened to any more model posts here I do have a great many more just can`t locate any more model CDs!!

...many thanks Churchy, round forty plus years building and just found another batch of photos taken by photographers at my first show and competition, stay tuned as I get then focused and cleaned up!

...here we have a very young novice builder just beginning his many years of building military vehicles{circa 1971 ish}.
...ooh so young!!

...so folks the above pics were taken by a Polaroid camera ,there were no computers or cell phones so there are very few photos of this modelling time zone also this was an 8yr modelling stretch then along comes the kids and hobbies out the door in come the cribs. It was sometime after they all went to school I started building again for the second time.Everything that I had built previous to having a family went into a dumpster with no photographs .

...the M818 Wrecker, read that it was in Desert Storm thus the colouring. This kit Renwall or something like that maybe the Atomic Cannon guys, very thick plastic and very incomplete! The cab, chassis, the bed and bits and pieces of the crane, not much else.

...now some tanks, I am a nut for Recovery Vehicles because they have so much crew preference when it comes to objects of use and reuse! Salvage is the key to doing heavy repairs.
