Exercise "Certain Strike 1987". During this REFORGER exercise, 6 M1 tanks and 1 M88 ARV from the US 67th Armored Regiment drove into a peat bog and got stuck. The tankers didn't manage to get their rides out of the bog and they started sinking deeper and deeper at a worrisome speed. The Yanks were considering cannibalising as much parts as possible and write the tanks off. Then the Kraut engineers came, built a hard top road into the peat bog and with heavy equipment they managed to extricate the M1s and the M88.

A US tanker of the 40th Tank Battalion scans the other side of the newly erected Berlin Wall through his binoculars, circa 1961.
The bunches of flowers were gifted by grateful West Berliners.
His M48 Patton tank was appropriately named "Gen. Patton"!

AMX 13 Light Tanks of the French Army participating in a military parade through the centre of West Berlin in April, 1964.
The AMX 13 was a radical design with its unique oscillating turret containing an auto-loaded 75mm gun which was a French development of the 75mm Kwk 42 L/70 of the Panther.

I don't believe this is British SAS CT teams members mate.....The kit is different and it says in black marker on them pics "NZ SAS CT TEAM" so these are likely the CT team members from the New Zealand SAS of the 1980's, which we all should know was modeled after the cutting edge British SAS CT team concept. GREAT PHOTOS though--Thanks for posting!!! notworthy; ?
