- D644 CYRIL HENDLEY. Able Seaman P/J98737 Royal Navy on HMS Boreas. Born 14 May 1905 at Heathfield, Sussex to George and Caroline Hendley nee Durrant. 1911 residing with his parents and siblings at Maynards Green, Horeham Road, Sussex. Enlisted 7 September 1920 on HMS Ganges as Boy 2 Class, civilian occupation, farm hand. Died on H M Hospital Ship, Maine 17th August 1934 aged 29 years from lobar pneumonia and heart failure.
