Plaque dedicated to Augusta Edward Sapp and all those lost onboard SS Empire Tiger.
Sunk 200 miles south of Iceland 26 February 1941.
This memorial plaque is at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire.

Chief Officer 16799 Augusta Edward Sapp. Merchant Navy on SS Empire Tiger (London)

While on a voyage from Halifax to the Clyde, the British steamship Empire Tiger foundered about 30 miles S of Iceland.
Born 1863 to John and Martha Sapp. Husband of Mildred Atchinson Sapp, of North Shields, Northumberland.
1911 at Roath Basin, Cardiff Dock on merchant ship North Britain occupation apprentice merchant marine. Died at 26 February 1941 age 48. His wife at the time of his death was residing at 105 Trevon Terrace, North Shields. Commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial, London.
