Gosh, stop to pretend already, we all know that's only because of their privileges. My mates who have just finished going around and around in circles on their John Deer tractors (seeding, not harvesting at this time of year) all went to $50,000 a year private boarding schools, (quarter of a million for each kid) before most kicked on with a degree, either at an Ag College, or at Uni, mostly in Ag or horticulture/viticulture, some in media or commerce.
Their parents and grand parents have built up the farms from bugger all (in some cases, virgin mallee forest), they've bought up their neighbors farms and now they're running properties with 7 figure turn overs. Clearing sales regularly pull in a couple of million and then the land its self worth a fortune. The kids (girls too, I went to school with chicks that got into ag and are often the brains behind their farm's success) need to be highly educated to keep up these days.
Outrage at video showing child who was maced by police at Seattle protest
Protester who filmed the aftermath says he was arrested and spent two days in jail for what some are calling police retributionwww.theguardian.com
Apart from the fact that this guy should never have brought a child to any protest in these heated times, and, well, it's the Guardian - this whole story won't help the Seattle police in terms of PR and rebuilding trust. If true, the aftermath sounds pretty ugly, too.
I can't stand to listen to Juan, I always pause the clip and forward through until he is done and then I continue watching.Somebody please tell Juan the guy shot in Albuquerque isn't dead, he was shot while assaulting someone (apparently with a knife, therefore a deadly weapon) and the dude arrested didn't "infiltrate" the protest but was trying to prevent a statue from being illegaly taken down.
Also not sure the shooter is a "white supremacist".
I can't stand to listen to Juan, I always pause the clip and forward through until he is done and then I continue watching.
When the others are talking it's bad enough that I have to see Juan making stupid facial expressions like he is unable to understand another point of view, I sure as hell don't want to listen to his TDS thinking too.
I'm not praising any of the others, just speaking of Juan..... he curls my lip like a rancid smell.
I think like a lot pf people, I've rolled my eyes at the "defund the police" thing. Having said that, I just read that Seattle PD's annual budget is 410 million dollars and they have 1300 officers. I know it's a little more complicated than that in they have civilian employees, equipment and a myriad of other expenses but my mind is genuinely blown.
I guess I've never really thought about how much it costs to run a large police force but I wouldn't have guessed at that kind of figure in a million years.
I'm guessing this also includes pensions and other social programs.
