The North Korean army conducted large-scale military exercises, the country's leader Kim Jong-un observed the exercises. Tactical exercises of tank troops and special forces were conducted, taking into account the experience of DPRK soldiers used in the Kursk region of Russia. It is worth noting that the video already shows the use of heavy drones. Following the exercises, the DPRK leader pointed out the need to fully improve the simulators and elements of the training ground, introduce information systems into training and reorganize the training regime in accordance with current requirements.

North Korea has begun to overtake Russia in warship building – it has launched its second Choe Hyon-class destroyer in just one month. 🇰🇵

In a stunning display of military acceleration, North Korea has launched its second Choe Hyon-class guided missile destroyer just a month after launching its first, leapfrogging Russia in the race to build heavyweight naval vessels. Satellite imagery from May 12 confirmed the construction of the second 144-metre, 5,000-tonne vessel at the Chongjin shipyard on the east coast – a near-identical vessel to the first launched at Nampo on April 25.

Equipped with 74 VLS vertical launch systems, the warship is designed to carry a mix of torpedoes, cruise, anti-ship and anti-aircraft. Notably, these destroyers are equipped with Russia’s Pantsir short-range air defense system, signaling deepening cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow.

North Korea now plans to build four of these destroyers, positioning itself as the fourth-largest navy in East Asia – right behind China, Japan and South Korea. The expansion of North Korea’s naval capabilities reflects a strategic shift: from a coastal defense force to a formidable blue-water navy.

Just came across this. No idea if it's true or not :|
Reports surfaced on a major accident during the launching of the second Choe Hyon-class destroyer for the Korean People's Navy (aka North Korean Navy).

The ship, whose name has not yet been made public but has been assigned the hull number 52 is the sistership of the Choe Hyun (51), which was shown recently conducting missile tests in North Korea, and is considered the most advanced North Korean warships ever.

According to reports: "Due to immature command and carelessness in operation during the launching process, the parallel movement of the bogies (drydock sleds) could not be guaranteed, which resulted in the launching sled in the stern being released first and becoming stranded, the ship's balance being destroyed by a dent in the bottom of some sections, and a serious accident occurring in which the bow section could not be released from the stern"

This resulted in the ship taking in water and capsizing, all while North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was present.

Looks like heads will roll soon.

Tankers of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces have implemented the experience of the Russian Armed Forces and began to equip their tanks with special "Mangals" for protection against drones. As reported, the Japanese Type 90 and Type 10 tanks received the "Mangal" protection against drones. It is worth noting that the protection installed on the Japanese tanks is symbolic, it is capable of protecting only the roof of the tank turret. The design does not protect the tank from being hit by an FPV drone. The Type 90 tank was adopted by Japan in 1992, and production of the tanks was completed in 2012. The Type 10 tank was adopted in 2012. It is planned that over time, the Type 10 tank will replace the outdated Type 74 tanks and complement the fleet of Type 90 tanks. Both tanks are equipped with a 120 mm gun, but the Type 10 tank has an automatic loader and a high degree of automation.
