Food & drink What are you drinking?

Jesus, fireball.

An American girl I know had told me about about drinking it in her local dive in Ohio and I was honest - it sounded vile. Then I was drunk in a pub in London and saw it behind the bar so bought one. It tasted like crap and I texted her to tell her as much. She essentially replied with "What the **** did you expect?" and I honestly didn't have an answer.

Was she taking the proverbial in suggesting it to you?! The people I know who say they drink it actually DO like it! Incredible... It's like Cinnamon Red Hot Jolly Ranchers or the American candy called Hot Tamales has been dissolved in a cheap liquer!

Tonight we have fish tacos, so I'm going to probably get some Mexican lager for the accompanying libation.

She didn't so much suggest it to me, as she told me when she was drunk and lost all semblance of commonsense then she would buy it. So I saw it and had to try it. ANd it was grim.

FAO British people. Sadlers Brewery have an offer on their website. I had 12 pints of their black IPA and a bottle of their rum delivered to the house for thirty quid including postage. The rum (Which apparently has won awards) normally goes for twenty so the twelve pints were essentially a tenner. Ordered it on Tuesday night and it arrived Thursday morning. Also, it doesn't have to be rum - they have their own gin and other things so you can pick and choose.

This brewery is decent as well mate - the mixed box is a good SP.

Sierra Nevada’s Wanderland Nectarine Ale.

if you like a noticeably fruity, typically hoppy Sierra Nevada light ale, you will enjoy this one.

I had one of these since SiL left it in our fridge. I liked it!

Over here, these types of bottles have a habit of deserting from the supermarkets. The store where I bought it uses to keep them in a locked glass cabinet and today a clerk even "parked" my bottle at the cashier's desk while I continued shopping.

You don't mind me asking but what you looking at for a bottle of that 50-60 euro? I can see why they have it locked away

It came at 34 something EUR. They keep the fancier brands of gin, rum, vodka and whisky locked away while the cheap booze up to like 20 EUR sits in a regular shelf.

It's about £30-£35 in the UK, so they are not adding much markup

Too much chatter. Not enough posting actual drink pictures...

I’ll resurrect this one then. St Austell “Big Job” which doesn’t need to be introduced to our British pals, @downsizer had it a few pages ago in this thread I reckon. It’s very good. A double IPA that goes down too fast!

Where did you 'acquire' the glass from?
