Expected to be sure. If this company had died naturally, I'd be ok with it, not happy but ok. My problem with this whole debacle isn't the decline or short selling per se. It's when certain funds somehow end up with a 140% short sell that I get a little perturbed. That's where the investigation needs to kick in. Either there was some highly illegal crap going on or there are some holes in the regulations that need to be tightened up.
Edit: I think that's where many of the investors from WSB were coming from. For them, it was an act of defiance. There are others who got caught up in it for the wrong reasons and thought that they were going to make some money. Those are the guys who lost their shirts.
