Trying to id this shoulder flash "1st BN LNG"

Its a long shot but could it be the 1st Battalion of the Louisiana Native Guard ?, cant think of anything else that LNG might represent
That would make it quite old though (American Civil War era)

It's obviously a machine-stitched patch, so I'm pretty sure it can't be from the Civil War era. I was thinking Louisiana National Guard but they don't have dedicated battalions and would have been split into Air NG vs Army NG.
