On the 12th April 1606, Great Britain adopted the Union Flag as its flag.
There is a lot of controversy about the flag as to if it’s the Union Flag or the Union Jack. Some people claim that the Jack is the pole that the flag is attached to at the stern of a ship.
However, the Oxford dictionary states that both terms are correct.
