Mi-26
The Mi-26 goes one up even on the Chinook when it comes to heavy lift and is the world’s largest and most powerful helicopter. While discussing the Chinook we had mentioned that in an emergency lift, the Chinook had lifted 81 troops even when its rated lift was 55 troops. Well, in the case of the Mi – 26 its rated lift is 90 troops, wonder what its emergency lift would be! The comparison is just to show how big the Mi–26 is and still fast enough to make it to this list.
Top Speed: 159.3 knots [183.2 mph or 295 kmph]
Cruise Speed: 137.7 knots [158.4 mph or 255 kmph]
