Today, January 4, 2023, after a farewell ceremony at the home port of Gdynia, the missile frigate ORP Gen. T. Kościuszko left to join the Standing NATO Maritime Group 1 - SNMG1. In the near future, it will operate in various sea basins with three units of the Alliance countries. The team's flagship will be the Dutch HNLMS Tromp frigate. The team will be led by Commodore Jeanette Morang. In addition to the Polish frigate ORP Gen.T.Kościuszko and the Dutch frigate HNLMS Tromp, there will also be the Danish command ship HDMS Esbern Snare and the French frigate FS Chevalier Paul.

The main tasks of the team will be primarily monitoring important, strategic shipping routes in order to ensure the free flow of raw materials to European countries.

Has anyone heard about the status regarding the evaluation of the Ślązak to determine the possibility of installing missile and ASW capabilities?

I have not come across official results.
The unconfirmed information that virtually nothing of the "heavy combat equipment" can be mounted on the ORP "Ślązak" without compromising the safe stability completely dispels thoughts of cheap and quick conversion of this patrol ship into a modern multi-role corvette. Without a strong interference in the construction of the hull and superstructures, it will probably not be possible to mount simultaneously: a vertical take-off anti-aircraft missile launcher (on the foredeck) and an anti-ship missile launcher (amidships). :(

Thanks for the information.

I had read that the original power plant was changed as a result of interference by military officials, and the added weight has resulted in a lightly armed yacht.

This is the effect of indecisiveness and lack of consistency. In relation to the assumptions (the "Gawron" project), the ship was disarmed, some of the equipment was changed, and heavy equipment was added high above the waterline, which meant that it had to be weighted down to improve stability.

Reversing these decisions will be difficult.
