Regarding the US airstrikes, it's not clear what's happening, but from reports it appears the the Iranian proxies from Iraq were starting to form a bit too close to American forces with unknown intentions and the decision was made to strike. Reportedly over 100 casualties. There also are reports that the US asked the SDF to take several nearby villages occupied by Iranian proxies, so the air strikes might be related to that.
