I would pass on riding this one. Long as it was flying straight it was probably alright but it's a bit light on the horizontal.

The Frederick Leist painting depicting the sinking of the HMT Southland in the Aegean Sea #OTD in 1915.
HMT Southland was a transport ship conveying men of 2nd Division AIF from Egypt to Gallipoli when it was torpedoed by the German submarine UB14 30 miles from Lemnos in the Aegean Sea.
The ship did not sink and all but 40 of 1400 men took to lifeboats and were picked up by other transports.
The remaining men and ship's crew managed to get to the ships later that day.
The painting shows soldiers from 2nd Australian Division taking to and waiting for lifeboats or jumping overboard.
Part of deck of the HMT Southland is visible with a ship's boat hanging from davit and crew attempting to launch the boat.

"Night Action off Cape Matapan, Greece, 28 March 1941" by Norman Wilkinson

A force of Royal Navy ships, accompanied by several Royal Australian Navy ships, and under command of British Admiral Andrew Cunningham, intercepted and sank or severely damaged the ships of the Italian Royal Navy under Admiral Angelo Iachino. The three ships closest to the viewer are HMS 'Valiant' (1914), HMS 'Warspite' (1913) and HMS 'Barham' (1914). The latter is closest to the viewer in the middle of the picture, and is easily recognisable as she was the only one of this trio which did not undergo major reconstruction in the 1930s.

The two Italian cruisers are the 'Zara' and the 'Fiume'.

You know what's really creepy about this? If you change just a few minor aesthetics, this could just as easily have depicted the Siege of Mariupol or Battle of Bakhmut in the present day.
