This rather unusual-looking machine is an Italian-made Pavesi AS multi-wheeled, articulated tractor.
Some examples were puchased for evaluation by the British government in the 1930s and were subsequently modified in the UK where they were fitted with British Armstrong-Siddeley engines.
These were trialled by the War Office but ultimately were not considered successful so the project was cancelled.
Nevertheless, it remains a somewhat "quirky" but interesting vehicle.
