Politics Climate Hysteria Debunked Yet Again ....

@TIZER

The plastic waste in the oceans is mostly of Asia's doing. Eight out of ten of the most waste-polluted rivers run in Asia. But she's not even protesting against that, is she. She's busy counting grams of CO2 like other girls her age do calories.

Still worth a read ....

exactly - they preach to us but its them that are actally destroying the earth

I dont think you can really pin the abundance of plastic bottles on teenagers, maybe on their parents, or maybe on their grandparents, I suspect it was all done the name of health and safety and wastage, no more broken glass to pick up when a bottle was dropped.

You can pin the abundance of plastic on both the customer (it is light all purpose disposable) and to the industry (cheaper than glass in production, storage and transportation)
Do you know that coca cola made an internal study that concluded that plastic bottles will be a disaster from trash disposal managment. They still went for it for the reasons i mentioned above

We have recycling. Caveat on, I trust its actually recycled. Plastic goes to Aussie or Asia then apparently returns. But anyway the majority of household "end product" goes that way.
I'm surprised taxcinder didn't set up collection stations for those that often dump on the side of the road.... Local riff raff and Camper van tourists from the EU.

Recycling doesnt work for all kind of plastic. There are tenths of them (PPET, PVP, PET, HDPE, PVC...)
Some are recyclable and recycled (rarely above 50% often less of efficieny), a lot are not.
And on the contrary to glass those recycled cannot be recycled more than 2 or 3 time.

Speaking of plastic, and cups.

A plastic-free cup could solve the coffee industry's waste problem

The game changer?

Yet, a new product from a Finnish paper mill might solve the coffee industry's problem, which multinational giants including Starbucks have thrown millions of dollars at in recent years.

Kotkamills Oy started up its board resin business about three years ago, just as a global revolt against disposable and destructive plastic waste was taking shape, CEO Markku Hämäläinen told National Observer last month.

Should be great for our foresters. Use to wrap everything in paper a few decades ago and used boxes or calico sack.
Should be using bins more in super market but they end up dispensing into another plastic bag but looks like they aren't far from solving that.

Oi! Don't drag Overly-attached Girlfriend into this, she's got a knife.

The big super markets going from shopper experience is better with plastic, that's 5 cents extra thanks.. to no longer supplying that rubbish is a sign of the times.
How hard is it to be prepared and have your own durable bag.
Same with unrepairable stuff, they like to sell stuff that can' be repaired. Consumer laziness is the key. There is no sign underneath the product price claiming its repairable indicating there is no demand..

I wouldn't have minded if you guys had imprisoned her on, I don't know, charges of lese majesty for pulling faces at Trump.

She’s still a meme? She’s been around for about 7 years and that Justin Bieber spoof...

Don't judge me. I remember a time when memes used to be passed around via e-mail.

Remember the time when you would be on the internet downloading some 10mb game and your mom would yell "get out of the net, I am trying to call!"

And three weeks later we would have a family meeting "We have decided to drop the internet. *name of my brother* has visited adult entertainment site that required long distance call, cost us 1000 finnish marks."

We only got back to the internet few years later after long time of begging, when DSL plans with monthly payments came out.
