Greens are loving replacing cows with the sterile solar panels for which the taxes wil be required to recycle. Who need birds and insects when they live in a paddock, unless its Fred the frog sitting on a proposed Coromandel mining road.

NZ farmland according to the farmers is the most low cost energy production in the world and for the amount of power they will need for their zero carbon future,... well I hear edible crickets grow ok under the panels and are fairly easy to trap.

One thing i never thought about, is that northern countries, kind of want global warming as it benefits them from an agricultural and energy point.

The other thing being promoted, a sort of "lite version" of the above is to allow animals to graze under the panels.
Well we don't know what will leach out of the panels over time, as far as I know what the panels are doped with is non toxic but there are lots of advances and experiments going on to increase the efficiency of panels.... I wouldn't have them near a food chain.
 
But the panels are not near a food chain... The same people who promote this as sustainable/ "the future" also promote either eating bugs, Singapore just approved bugs for human consumption, or vegetarianism. But I agree, the panels should not be close to stock for that reason.

As the previous labour greenies in nz grappled with ending fracking/gas exploration replacing cows with solar panels they forgot about no wind or sun days or how to power their immigrantion population explosion, new electric cars and industrial production at the same time.. for them its a toss up with the cows and industrialists an impediment to them destroying NZ.
....Two pulp and paper mills permanently closed due to high electricity costs in a country where we grow trees faster than anyone.

Current NZ govt trying to mop up after the last mess must give free carbon credits (paid for by taxes) to exporters so they can survive vs non industrialized Indian and Chinese made Hyundai excavators and Cat dozers to name a few examples.

It is coming to pass that it does not make sense.

Actually realastically we deindustrialized...we used to make cars TV sets etc and the aformentioned got those jos...so ironic huh.
