Photos Armenia v Azerbaijan

For anyone who speaks Russian, I'm sorry this is the Soviet-style not even Russian propaganda circa 1960s - 1970s. Also, Azeris are full of themselves, Armenians WILL fight to the last man. The images of Sumgait and Baku pogroms from the late-1980s are still fresh in collective memory.

I tend to agree on the Armenians fighting to the last man. Ask any Armenian, there is still anger and bitterness on the genocide of a century ago, which is understandable.

8 Armenian Grad BM-21 122mm MRLSs were hit by Azerbaijan UAVs today.

Some Polish journalists analysed different videos and they concluded that the Azeri drone operators are highly-trained professionals.
The operators used different forms of an attack, depending on their target. In case of tanks, all attacks had a 90-degree vertical angle and the missiles/loitering ammunition exploded on the tanks' roofs or, precisely, very close to the turret hatches. In case of anything else, the angle was more like 45 degrees, as any other military hardware except for the tanks had a thinner armour, so the operators were not concerned about targeting the roofs.

And so the drone wars start - and next it won't even need an operator just AI - the future of warfare rolled out on Youtube for all to see

Not sure about the best, but definitely a native speaker. No accent whatsoever.
The guy is a professional rather than the common man.
It reminds me of an English snob from East Sussex whom I was unlucky to call in 2018 in order to protect his money. His English was so fvcking amazing that he could put BBC presenters to shame. He could easily compete against John Bercow. He was talking unnaturally slowly and separating every single word, assuming that he did not have to pass ID&V questions just because he had a few millions pounds on his account and would have moved them to a different bank if he had not received a special treatment. Some people like that assume that their account balance plus their English skills make them special, so you should treat them like a king. Eventually, he raised his voice, talking to me 4 times as slowly as the natural speech, and threatened to sue me. I could not stand this sh1t for any longer, so I disconnected. He put a complaint against me, but my team leader listened to our conversation and decided to take no action against me, saying that it's difficult to follow formal procedures talking to a guy like him. To make it funny, she was born in the same region like him.
99% of my customers don't behave the way he did, though. These "unique" people make you remember them.

On a serious note, how can such drones possibly be countered? Self-propelled AA on platoon level, manpads, counter-drone fighters?
from the bits you see the counter is other drones that are AI controlled to hunt down and destroy the other sides drones - that will be an exponential race now everyone has seen this war being fought in this way

I have also seen reports of 'cluster' munitions in development that produce loads of ground drones and they go and find any targets in the area

put it this way it is quite frightening - especially if you are a grunt on the ground - as seen in some of the video footage

Lasers.
At least that worked in C&C: Generals.

Given how small such drones are, and how numerous they can be in numbers, maybe some mini EW system that can be mounted on all tanks that automatically fries the circuits of nearby unidentified airborne objects. Something APS-inspired but for drones, and with a greater range of detectability. Pretty sure we'll end up seeing something like that in mass-production pretty soon, if this drone tactic persists.
Or something inspired by the President-S (Л-370 «Ви́тебск») active protection EW system used on helicopters.
You and I know it's gonna happen.

I guess a preventive hack into the enemy's drone control would also be on the table of options. Turning them against their former masters does work in the movies, and if any nerd in the cyber defense finds a backdoor it should be doable in real life too.

your problems with lasers start when you get drones with highly reflective surfaces - or for radar stealth drones or drones coated with absorbent paint - especially when they are already so small - you only have to miss one
you are going to need an awful lot of protection for costly assets - no easy answers to this one

How about using fast-flying tennis balls? It's cheap and highly effective even against reflective surfaces.

Armenian military convoy got targetted by Azerbaijani operated Bayraktar TB2 UCAVs.

That's where Azerbaijan has a clear advantage over Armenia.
Another Polish article says that the Armenian MoD budget is $530mln against the Azeri MoD budget of $1.88bn.
Apart from that, all drones used by Armenia are locally produced with no single one imported from abroad.
Surely, Armenian drones have worse characteristics than the Israeli-made drones used by Azerbaijan.
The list of Armenian drones is:

The Polish journalists say that the specs of Armenian drones cannot be verified and little is known about them.

When it comes to Turkish-made Azerbaijani drones, the journalists say that they have been delivered recently, as there was not any information about Azerbaijan using any Turkish drones even one year ago.

Everything that Armenia is using is from Russia. Including some of latest equipment. Pretty much Russia supplied it for combat testing purposes.

Here is an example. "Repellent-1 is an anti-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) warfare system" knocked out by one of the UCAV in Azerbaijan arsenal.
