Never heard of this one before
.....
wrong thing i posted ..I assume you probably didn’t want to post this here. Unless we include Hunter as a disaster which isn’t far stretched.
Very strange.
Very strange.
There is something they are not advertising, either extreme incompetence, or malfeasance.
There is a sensor in the seat to detect the weight of a pilot in the seat but will auto eject only is there is little forward motion/speed to keep lift & the altimeter is spooling down to zero elevation on most fighter jet. Since this is the 35B variant with vertical take off & landing with minimal forward speed on landing maybe the computer auto eject malfunctioned. Harrier Jump Jet have no auto eject for that reason.. Most fighter jets have that auto eject feature. Works as last resort as well if you've pulled the emergency restraint release handle & the manual ejection handle & nothing happened other than you've soiled your flight suit.......F-35B supposedly has an automatic ejection seat that will eject the pilot if certain criteria are met. As the pilot was landing at the time of the mishap, there's every chance that the aircraft detected said criteria and ejected.
