Photos Afghan Armed Forces (Prior to 2021)

As someone who completed numerous tours since 2001 in Afg and worked with Afghans, I find the gloating and amazing "hot takes" of some posters and twitter users recently, who have clearly never set foot in country, frankly distasteful.

This whole episode makes me really.....sad. Though that probably isn't the right word. And sick, it makes me feel sick to the stomach.

Was afghan army effective during your time

One of the big mistake was that approach to arm afghan national army was wrong everyone knows that afghan army doesn't have any effective armored division and in that case u have to equip your whole army with special forces gears and equipment but in afghanistan their is a SOF but in small numbers

I worked with the Air Force, who were.

And it isn't really about how effective the Army were, this is about a section of the population who were doing and trying their best, who will now be hunted down and executed. It's already happening. And as I human being that upsets me.

Life for Afghans wasn't perfect, but it's going to get a lot worse now.

Some people still dont get it, the pull out was the best decision. The past 20 years was always a waste, so will be the next 20 years if you stayed. Relegate this "adventure" to memory and the history books. Maybe the Americans will finally learn that most of the time your sons and daughters arent dying for your freedom or "to keep the nation safe" its to serve an interest by some politician and lobbyists.

New theaters for you to play with that would probably have a more drammatic impact and will give you a better feel good story:
- Southern Africa
- Central Africa
- hell even Venezuela
I would not mind if they did all the s**t within their borders, what concerns me is the exportation of their s**t :|

Although I can't find the original report (It was presumably broadcast, rather than being in an article), more than a few twitter users last night were stating that Channel 4 news reported that the British Ambassador was staying on the ground as long as possible in order to process visas for local staff and interpreters.

Apologies - video for the report

Seems there's casualties from the stampedes caused at the airport. At lease some tweets showing bodies on the ground.

Perhaps it may have been good if they had put that much effort in defending their country............
