JOHNSTON, Hugh. Rifleman 538, 16th Royal Irish Rifles, killed in action on the 4th August 1917. He was the son of Alexander and Mary Jane of 18 Saul Street, Downpatrick, formerly in 1901, 8, Hollymount, County Down and brother of Alexander who also fell in the Great War. He is commemorated on a family memorial in Down Cathedral, New Cemetery, County Down, Northern Ireland and he is at rest in Wieltje Farm Cemetery, Belgium.
