Late surgeon, Lt Col of the 3rd Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment.
For 40 years physician to the County Hospital and 30 years Justice of the Peace for this City.
In memory of wisdom, gentleness and goodness which endeared him to all classes of his fellow citizens. He was born at Farrington near Boston Oct 21 1829 and died at Lincoln Jan 19 1900.

Surgeon-Lieutenant-Colonel G. Mitchinson, 3rd Battalion the Lincolnshire Regiment, retires under the provisions of paragraph 82 of the Militia Regulations, 1894, with permission to retain his rank, and to wear the prescribed uniform on his retirement. Dated 14th November, 1894.
