The above window was erected in affectionate remembrance of
Colonel Weston Cracroft Amcotts, of Hackthorn Hall in this County (Lincolnshire) by
Officers and Men of the 1st Volunteer Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment which he commanded 21 years. Ao Dni 1884

Born 1815 at Harrington, Lincolnshire to Robert Amcotts. Died 14 July 1883 at High Harrogate, Yorkshire

1841 aged 24 at Upper Seymour Street, St Marylebone, Middlesex. Living of independent means.

1851 visiting the home of the Burton family at 07 St Albans Place, Westminster St James, Middlesex.

1861 at the home of his widowed father Robert at The Hall, Hackthorne, Lincolnshire.

21 April 1864 he married Ellen Nevile, widow, nee Bryan at St Pauls Church, Knightsbridge. He gave his residence as Hackthorn, Lincolnshire and he was a widower.

1871 residing with his wife Ellen, son and two stepchildren at Walcot Hall, Southorpe, Northamptonshire. Occupation, Member of Parliament

1881 Now a widower residing at The Hall, Hackthorn, Lincolnshire. Occupation, J.P. and landowner

Died 14 July 1883 at High Harrogate, Yorkshire was prived at Lincoln by Edward Weston Cracroft Amcotts of Hackthorn Hall and Frederick Augustus Cracroft Amcotts of Hackthorn, Lincolnshire, the Sons, the Executors.
