In grateful memory of Air Vice Marshal, Sir Edward Arthur Beckington Rice. K B E. C B. M C.
Who commanded H Q. 1. GP RAF Bomber Command 1943 – 1945.
His life was one of unceasing service to his country and to others as the result of wounds he received in France in 1915 he died suddenly at his home at Naro Moru, Kenya Colony on April 14 1948 aged 54.

Son of Edward and Amelia Curtis Rice. 1911 residing with his parents at Priors Rose, Sutton Courtenay, Abingdon Berkshire, occupation, student
He was the husband of Dora Margurite Hardman Rice, nee Rice who he married in 1917 in the registration district of Coventry.
