G139 WILLIAM HUNTER HARVIE KENNEDY. Lieutenant, Royal Navy Reserve on shore base HMS St.Angelo, Malta. Born 7 December 1890 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire to Bass and Jane Kennedy, nee Harvie. 1891 he was residing with his parents and siblings at 72 Houston Street, Govan, Lanarkshire. 1911 now an apprentice seaman aged 20 years on steamship Narcissus 2 miles of Flambore Head, Yorkshire Coast at midnight Sunday 2 April 1911. On the 19 December 1914 he received a Certificate of Competency as Second Mate of a foreign going steamship. 25 March 1916 he received his Certificate of Competency for First Mate of a foreign going steamship in the Merchant Service. 11 September 1920, Master of a Foreign going steamship. Died in Royal Naval Hospital Bighi, Malta 4th February 1940 aged 49 years of duodenal ulcer.
