F107 Stanley Joscelyn EARLEY, Engine Room Artificer 3rd Class D/MX74987 Royal Navy on HM Submarine Upstart. Born 28 July 1899 at West Grimstead, Wiltshire to Alfred George and Mary Ellen Earley. 1901 residing with his parents and siblings at 15 Norton ??, Norton, Wiltshire. 1911 still with his parents and brother now at Lawrence Weston, Henbury, Bristol. On 20 January 1917 at Bristol he enlisted into the army aged 17 years and 5 months, posted the same day into the army reserve as Sapper 35755 Royal Engineers to await mobilisation at his home. His civilian occupation was an apprentice to a boiler maker at John Shearman and Co Ltd, Ship repairer and engineers, Avonmouth, Gloucestershire. On 5 September 1917 he was called up and posted to Inland Waterways and Docks, Royal Engineers Depot. 1 June 1918 he was sentenced 14 days detention my Major A L Young, Royal Engineers for not complying to an order given by Sergeant Johnson. On 30 August 1918 he was on a compulsory transfer to the 3rd East Kent Regiment (The Buffs). 5 March 1919 he was transferred to Class Z Army Reserve and demobilised to his home in Henbury. 12 January 1922 he enlisted into the Royal Air Force as Airman 351001. Unable to find when he left the RAF. Husband of Annie Gertrude Earley, nee Moss of Shirehampton, Bristol. Died in 90th General Hospital, Imtarfa, Malta, 28th December 1943 aged 44 years from multiple injuries sustained in a motor cycle accident. Wills and Admin, Ancestry - His residence was 79 Nibley Road, Shirehampton, Bristol, his effects went to his widow. His wife died 15 November 1979 at 79 Nibley Road, Shirehampton, Bristol.


F107 Cecil A. ELEMS, Signalman, P/J65819, HMS St. Angelo shore base, Malta. Son of Alfred William and Eliza Edith Elems. The husband of Violet Elems, of Camden Town, London. Died 7th April 1942 aged 41 years


F107 George Patrick HONEY, Air Mechanic 1st Class, FX77047 Royal Navy on HMS St.Angelo, shore base, Malta. Son of John Henry and Ethel Victoria Honey, of Horndean, Hampshire. Died 24th March 1942 aged 22 years
