All below were part of a five-man crew in a Wellington Mk VIII No HX726 which had taken off from RAF Luqa. In the early hours of the 13 February 1943. it appeared the aircraft had engine trouble and was returning to base; it did not appear to be any great distress. The aircraft overshot the runway and dropped into a shallow quarry and was destroyed killing all on board.

Born 8 October 1910 at Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada to Peter John and Gladys Beatrice Baron Brown, of 423 Wellington Street, Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada. Enlisted 20 February 1941.
He was killed 13 February 1943 aged 33 years, 4 months and 5 days.
F104 Lawrence Harry GLEASON. Pilot-Officer, Pilot, J/17063, Royal Canadian Air Force, attached to 458 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force at RAF Luqa. Born 26 March 1918 at Canora Saskatchewan, Canada Harry Gleason. to Harry and Agnes Myrtle Lizzell Gleason of Box 5 Canora Saskatchewan. He enlisted 24 February 1941 at Saskatchewan. On the 1 July 1941 as Leading Aircrafyman stationed at No 5 E.F.T.S, High River, Alberto he went absent without leave (AWOL) while on active service from the station from 2230hrs 1 July to 01-30hrs 2 July 1941 Sergeant C W Fines was the witness to this offence. Later that day the charges was in front of Flight Lieutenant R F Gladden who awarded 3 day confined to base (3 C.B.) He was killed 13 February 1943 aged 25 years
F104 Maurice McAllister KEMPTON. Flying-Officer, J/9516, Royal Canadian Air Force, attached to 458 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force at RAF Luqa. Born 8 October 1914 at Moose Jaw Saskatchewan, Canada to Clifford Forge and Mary Kempton, of 632 Oxford Street, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. His father was native of Essex, England, his mother also from Essex. He enlisted 6 March 1941 at Regina Saskatchewan Canada. Previous military service. He had served as Lance Corporal, 3 Coy, 12th Divisional Signals at Moose Jaw 1933 to 1936 when Signals amalgamated with the KORC. He was now Private and joined 25 September 1936 to end of his engagement 5 October 1937. He was killed 13th February 1943 aged 28 years 4 months and 5 days

Stanley and Eva May Stanley, of Sudan Interior Mission, Minna, Northern Nigeria, West Africa. His father’s profession, missionary. Enlisted 30 January 1941 at Toronto, occupation, baker. Killed 13 February 1943 aged 22 years and laid to rest 17 February 1943
