Born 7 December 1910 at St Austell, Cornwall to Sydney and Mary James. 1911 residing with his parents at Merrifields Row, East Hill, St Austell, Cornwall. 1939 residing with his wife Winnie, nee Gregory at 1 Bellvue St Austell, occupation Petty Officer Stoker, Royal Navy. Died 18th October 1943 aged 32 years of asphyxia due to accidental drowning in Malta. Wills and Admin, Ancestry - His residence was 1 Bellevue, Trethurgy St Austell, Cornwall. His effects went to widow.


F106 Alfred John RYDER, Stoker 2nd Class, D/KX138776 Royal Navy on HMS Rodney. Born 4 December 1917 at Liverpool, Lancashire to Roger and Sarah Jane Ryder, nee Eves. Husband of Louisa Ryder, nee Wilson of Dingle, Liverpool. Died 18th October 1943 aged 25 years of asphyxia due to accidental drowning in Malta. Wills and Admin, Ancestry - His residence was 119 Park Street, Liverpool. His effects went to his widow.
His father fought in the Great War as Private, 17th Cheshire Regiment and Army service Corps.


F106 Frank OVERTON. Ordinary Telegraphist, D/JX175824 Royal Navy on HMS St.Angelo shore base, Malta. Born 7 March 1923 at Boston, Lincolnshire to Herbert and Gladys Overton, of Boston, Lincolnshire. Died 7th April 1942 aged 19 years along with Signalman Cecil Elems at the Castile Signal Station, on HMS St Angelo. Malta as the result of heavy aircraft bombing on Valletta.


F106 NELSON GATES SUMNER. Able Seaman, Quartermaster 146325 Merchant Navy. Born 1895 at Ramsgate, Middlesex to Jacob Gates Sumner. 1911 residing with his widowed father and siblings at 60 Victoria Road, Kilburn, London, occupation, student. Died 7 Nov 1943 aged 48 years in Naval Hospital Bighi, Malta of Pneumococcal Meningitis due to Pneumococcal following Septicaemia and pneumonia right lower lobe. Wills and Admin Ancestry – Residence 17 Kirby Road, Leicester. Died date and place stated. Effects went to Elizabeth Helen Dickin, married woman. Another address for him, found on (UK, Merchant Seamen Deaths, 1939 -1953) was 88 Hill Street, Liverpool. Birth name registered as Nelson Gates Sumner. ON HEADSTONE AS W SUMNER – NON WAR GRAVE
