- D562 William BOYD. Chief Petty Officer M3879 Royal Navy on HMS Sandhurst. Born 11 February 1892 at Newcastle Upon Tyne Northumberland. He may have been the son of Neil McKenzie and Mary Ann Boyd, nee Wilson of (1901) 218 Clare Street, Benwell, Northumberland. Enlisted 11 December 1911 on HMS Vivid I, occupation prior to enlistment, clerk. Died 9th May 1928 aged 36 years in Royal Naval Hospital, Malta from organic heart disease and cardiac failure. His wife was informed of his death 10 May 1928.
Wills and Admin, Ancestry. - Resided at 13 Linden Road, Gillingham, Kent died 9 May 1928 at Royal Naval Hospital, Malta. His effects went to his widow Elizabeth Boyd nee Ramsden.
