Longer exposure - and a tripod

if you get a clear night point it to the stars and choose the slowest film and longest exposure - you get great star trail movement

That's only feasible if am far from the glow of the City .. and am out in the middle of nowhere . Am limited to how far i can travel

Thanks very much! I'm still using a Cannon T3, 12mp. I shot in RAW and edited in Photoshop. Just basic editing, no fancy stuff. Eventually I want a full frame DSLR but it's not a primary want right now.

Is you're version of Photoshop FOC ? As i was looking at downloading PS but i can't find any free downloads .. as the ones i saw listed were PCM payments .. it not financially feasible for me .. As my pics are never published and i never Edit , touch them up . prior to posting

Have a look for a 'portable' version - some Turkish guy used to do them - all you do is keep it on a stick and it 'installs' it when you want to use it and then when you switch your machine off it is no longer there

I have MS Office somewhere - as it was handy to be able to use it on a machine that did not have it installed, and it disappears once it was rebooted
