Yesterday drive about. After The Thunderbolt Way we went up to Barrington Tops, at about 1500 meters altitude they are second highest hills in Australia. Temperature was +6C in the afternoon and there was snow in shady spots, last time I saw snow was about 30 years ago so I was impressed by that and a couple who camped there in tent overnight, must be tourist from some arctic country found comfortable place to spent covid-19 mandatory isolation.
Also spotted 3 brumbies, they come out of dense scrub in winter because not many people around.
Here is a hut you can shelter in if weather turns nusty it has big open fireplace stucked with firewood by bush rangers.
We've had 3 significant rain events here this year. It should make for a wild life rich couple of years. We might get our emus back, they've been MIA for a couple of years.
