It is a little devil you don't want to touch, those spikes are capable of inflicting a very painful sting.

You learn something new every day I grew up on the Fortescue River and have never seen them that colour. Usually white and gray in colour, like a shark. Colloquially known as a catfish.

Fortescue we have in the east is different, it is "Centropogon australis" and lives in salt water tidal lakes and river estuaries. The only reasonable solution if it gets you is to drink lots of cold beer very fast.

They're a good looking can. I got a stubby holder in that design from the bush chook mob.

Sorry but its a crap photo. Its actually a Caribbean 2400 (24ft). Fiberglass and built by International Marine in Melbourne. The company builds the Bertam brand, 26ft and larger. Excellent ocean going boats which they export all around the world.
