I see this all the time from Europeans at skscrapercity. Why are dollar figures posted like this? Is this what they are now teaching, in the last 40+ years, in school?

The California Bell Tower is the most recognisable landmark of Balboa Park. The California Building and Bell Tower currently house the San Diego Museum of Man, a museum of anthropology. The buildings were part of the Panama-California Exposition in 1915 and give the impression of a Colonial church with Spanish and Mexican architectural elements. The buildings exhibited a display called “The Story of Man through the Ages” during the Expo, which eventually grew into the San Diego Museum of Man.

Do you mean putting $ after the quantity?

In spanish we always put the symbol of the currency after and not before, sorry, I know I wrote in english but I always think in Spanish and then I translate it.

Surprised by the images of Armenia, what a beautiful site, very organized, is in the capital?

Visited Lidice Memorial back in October. For those, who doesn't know, Lidice was a Czech village wiped out by Germans in 1942 as reprisal (one of many) for the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich.

One of the very few artefacts that survived the destruction of the village.

For me, the most moving place of the memorial. Sculpture dedicated to 82 children murdered in Chelmno extermination camp.

Place of mass grave of 173 men of Lidice.

The remnants of a "Horák farm" where all the men were shoot down.

Even the former cemetery wasn't spared. The remains were dug-up, looted for gold and destroyed.
