Now due to complete negligence , decomissioned warships are just abandoned at that pier to sink for themselves

I read about that. The explanation was that the ships should be towed to be sunk as reefs. But somehow and due to unforeseen circumstances the communities I think it was in the Acores or so which should receive the ships postponed it.

That long that the Navy was forced to remove all harmful substances to have them eventually sink in port as they were not fit anymore to be towed.
