Shanghai police have vowed to maximize their efforts to safeguard the third China International Import Expo at a ceremony on Sunday.

More than 800 representatives of the city’s police officers and their assistants attended the ceremony held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, the venue of the expo, and took the vow.

Police said they have already stepped up security management of the area where the expo is going to be held.

They will also offer better services for exhibitors and visitors including identity checks and parking.

This year’s import expo will be held from November 5 to 10.

Israel:
January 2018, Israeli forces (Yamam) killed a Palestinian gunman and captured another in a clash in the occupied West Bank on Thursday, saying they were part of an Islamist Hamas cell responsible for an ambush in which a Jewish settler was shot dead.

Two Israeli police commandos were wounded in the raid in the city of Jenin, a spokesman said.

Witnesses said the Israeli forces had bulldozed at least one building, and that it was possible another gunman was buried under the rubble.

Israeli Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman said the Palestinians targeted in Jenin belonged to a Hamas cell that killed Rabbi Raziel Shevah, a West Bank settler, in a drive-by shooting on Jan. 9 and attempted a previous attack.

A training session led by the unit's commander begins at about 10:30.

28:45 onwards you'll see footage of GSG9 in an exercise with Israel's YAMAM.

Another exercise begins at 36:30, modelled after an attempt by Islamic terrorists a few years back to weaponise ricin.

Some interludes follow a police officer playing a terrorist. Others include interviews with the upper echelons and even GSG9's former housekeeper.

It's funny to hear those men earn their nicknames pretty much like fighter pilots do, with strange incidents or amusing anecdotes from their past. The leader of the team accompanied by the camera crew is called Mopsi (fatso). His comrades bear colourful nicknames like Mutti (mom), Blümchen (flower), Buckel (hunchback), Tussi (bimbo), Big Mac and Barbie.

The toughtest cops in Germany, ladies and gentlemen.
