I really can’t see him lasting long. What does he bring to the table?

How to make barrel bombs?

If putin survives, he’s a fair few mouths to feed.
If putin dies etc, then he becomes an unwanted house guest, for which the new Syrian gov would give peaceful relations with Russia for.

Or if he wants to get points in Europe, he sends him to The Hague.

What a profound demonstration of unintended consequences.

14 months ago:

Hamas calling the Iranian Mullahs: "Hey bro, what's up? We've got this idea, we will invade Israel, murder, rape and mutilate thousands of civilians, including women and children...and get this...we will live stream it!"

Mullahs: "Great! Now you are thinking! What could go wrong?!?! I'll even get the Hezzies to give you back up. Send me pics, this will be awesome!!!"

Amazing what an unbelievable clusterfark this became for Iran.
Is it even clear that Iran knows where it went wrong?

It bought all those lovely scud missiles, then upgraded them with kit from Alibaba.

Same with 1970 crotales from France.

How could they fail. They had 8m Jews surrounded on all sides.

Will any of the Muslim countries learn, and invest in schools(for men an women) healthcare, solar energy, roads, trade, etc.

For a religion of peace, they sure have a lot of wars.

Was probably part of the deal.
As in: listen mate, there is a concerted effort to take over the country. Everybody is in on it, even us (Russia). We won't help you, your regional allies won't help you, their proxies won't help you.
Resist and it is going to be a bloodbath and you will die, and so will your family. You will get slaughtered like Kadafi.
Want to live? Just give up your country.
You'll get asylum in Russia, but you will have to leave everything behind.

So which do you prefer to rule Syria from now on?
Al Qaeda or ISIS?
Hopefully, the Kurds, Druze and Christians will take a larger role.........unless Erdo tries to ethnically cleanse them, which I wouldn't put past him.

Hopefully the west suggests this route, with money attached.

The better Syria the less migrants etc

Oh he will, actively or not, that's something he will likely support.

Why so much ethnic cleansing imposition of adjective to Turks? Kurds were always with Turks from Battle of Manzikert to Salladdin ( A Kurd who lead Turks). Guess who committed the Armenian massacres with Turks?.. Erdo will creat Syrian peshmerge ( iraqi Kurdistan). Turks want controllable Kurds not puppet of Iran Russia either US. We will work on it so don't worry.

Not at all Alawits ( Shia kinda muslims), Nusayri's (shia) Druze's & Kurd's will seek asylum & playing the victim role = Free EU membership. Syria is a third world country, even if there was no war, people would want to get out of there. Ding dong 3+ million refugees are coming thanks to Israeli & US support for SDF & prolonged Syrian war.

If the Kurds establish a pro-Turkey Peshmerga formation, similar to the one in Iraq, it would be the best outcome for them. They cannot hold onto areas like Deir ez-Zor and Raqqa, where millions of Arabs live. With Turkey conducting attacks in the north and uprisings in the south, the YPG will be caught in a pincer. I shared this prediction in the last month on the forum, and it turned out to be accurate. My current prediction is that Turkey will somehow secure its border and reach an agreement with the Kurds. If Israel doesn't withdraw from to Golan Heights, they will face daily ATGM missile strikes. The militias trained by the Turks defeated a 600,000-strong army; let's see how Israel responds in southern Syria. This time not Iranian but world best Jihadis will fight Israel not targeting Muslim Assadist but this time directly IDF. HTS will get much militas around the world like it was in Afghanistan. Israel, which was previously fighting a small Iran-linked group, now faces a massive Islamist Syria.

Israel isn’t going to give up the golan, to anyone, but especially not because of a threat of military action.

Hopefully Turkey now has the Syria it wanted, and pushes for peace, with Kurds and pushes the Muslim groups to rebuild Syria, not embark on a foolhardy fight with Israel.

Israel just defeated hamas and hezbollah, and Iran, while being vilified for every action/inaction or action of the enemies.

As the saying goes, planning to go to war, dig a grave.

I wouldn't bet on that.

They hate the Kurds.

Erdogan also hates Israel, depending on what day it is.

That’s what worries me.

I dont for a minute give the tired out Syrians any chance of scoring even a nosebleed on Israel at the moment, but after what, 14 years of war, don’t they want a rest, make kids, and whatever else they want to do? Haven’t they seen enough grinding war?

Ummmm.....I wish I had a "Mr Obvious" meme handy. See, Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians.

I hope for the best.

Those are big assumptions. Both that now free Kurds will happily become Turkey's/Erdo's servants. Also the idea that Erdo will push around Israel.

See my "unintended consequences"post on previous page.

But.....I hope for the best.

I'm not talking about the Golan Heights. Today, Netanyahu made a statement saying that the Syrian army has occupied areas opposite the Golan Heights. What I meant was, if Israel moves further in and establishes new bases within Syrian territory where SAA was stationed.

As for Turkey, it has consistently advocated for Syria’s territorial integrity, and any steps toward peace—whether with the Kurds or rebuilding efforts—should respect this principle. A reckless escalation would only bring more instability to the region, which no party can afford.

The Middle East has already become a graveyard over the thousand year, and since the Sykes-Picot Agreement, it has turned into a coffin factory.
