RED FLAG, NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE

The Colombian Air Force participated in the first simulated offensive mission, of the International Exercise of Air Combat Red Flag 2019, whose objective was to degrade the capacity of the anti-aircraft system of the aggressor forces and in which the KC-767 FAC 1202 tanker aircraft, flew to 24,000 feet to refuel three EA-18 "Growler" aircraft of the United States Navy (US Navy), which together with more than 62 aircraft, flew at the same time over the training airspace of the Nellis Base.

Swedish 192nd Mech. Bat. about 800 strong. Approx. 1500 Finnish troops from 4 different battalions (?) join them to be OPFOR, totalling about 3000 troops. The Offence is a Norwegian tank brigade with added units from US Marine Corps and the British army with the Royal Marines. Approx 7000 troops in total.

RED FLAG 19-2

With a very positive balance, the most important aerial combat training exercise in the world is Red Flag, this year in its 19-2 version at the Nellis air base in Nevada, United States, where the Colombian Air Force participated for the third time, along with 21 squads of nine countries, confirming that it is not inferior to any challenge, playing strategic roles in high tactical level scenarios
