Is this real life or just fantasy?
It's real - it's someone's leaving present?

Whilst the geek guys are actually doing all the work

What were their actual jobs? HR bum fluff extractor - platform enhancement influencer etc.

Hope he does fire 75% of them - they might have to get a real job to match their abilities cleaning the toilets across the road

The problem you have with any big organizations you get a core of people who do nothing and contribute nothing - and they then build layers of people round them who are the same. Ask them if they ever actually delivered a project on time and on budget and the answer will be no - as they never deliver anything

If Elon is looking for someone to send to Mars, then he has four good candidates there - we need you to go and 'create' a conducive atmosphere

I really do wonder what the job of these people is at twitter.

With the amount of distractions set for them, it is surprising they are managing to get anything done.

Feels more like a daycare for "adults" (or people pretending to be adults) where they can pretend to do stuff (whatever that may be).

As I said yesterday, the sink was for these three and about 75% of the other useless articles who work at Twitter

Trump back is a positive thing

If I was reading this as an American, I would be thinking adios to bad rubbish ?

Considering the abhorrent job they did in regard to handling cases of child sexual exploitation, that's perhaps the best way to start the clean up of the company.

I wouldn't entrust any of the twitter employees who gets fired with a job coming any kind of responsibility.

This would include the handling food to a customer at a drive-through.

I used to work for Big Tech, both working for and visiting a bunch of different FAANG company campuses.

Google’s/Alphabet’s would probably be the most egregious in terms of perks, but the rest are similar enough depending on role..

It comes down to revenue, gross profit, and net profit per employee.

The value creation and capture per employee is so high compared to average businesses/employees it seems almost alien.

The job perks and benefits exist to keep them productive and producing.

Paying $50-100 a day on meal costs, on-site free dry cleaning, on-site free haircuts, on-site free healthcare are all rounding errors for folks generating >$1.5m per employee with 60% gross margins.

People working McDonalds, and even Amazon warehouses, assume company profits could cover the same for them.

They can’t because flipping burgers, making fries, and moving boxes generates $5k-$10k GP per employee, whereas Google is close to a million in GP.

There’s certainly fat to cut across all Big Tech, especially since everyone is going to miss Q4 and ‘23 is not looking good.

But I think there’s a lot of glee born in jealously directed at folks who did the hard yards in school earning qualifications that create and capture a LOT of tangible value.

I used to work for SAP in Germany and for other blue chip companies round the world

There is certainly a lot of fat to be cut from these companies - people who don't actually ever produce anything

We used to refer to them as 'squirrel heads' - because no matter how many 'qualifications' they purported to have received, they were just nut jobs

Talking about qualifications - when I worked for one company, there was a woman who was on £150K+ who really grated on everyone she came into contact with - a really nasty piece of what you would call now woke warrior - who never produced anything other than bluster for 18 months. She disappeared one day, and I was asked to remove all her security from the systems worldwide and look at what she had been accessing and downloading. Turned out all her fantastic CV and qualifications were fake
