Photos D9R - 'Major Overhaul' Diorama Stage 2

(Y) Beautiful work mate!

Thank you kindly.

The level of detail is insane. This could easily be one of those miniature diaromas they used to use for the practical effects in movies before computer-generated imagery took over.

Appreciate your positive comment.

Charles it is looking great. So complete and the levels of detail are so realistic.

Appreciate your uplifting view of this diorama.

I buckled up the corrugated sidings and dirtied it up a bit. Re-positioned the welder at the ripper instead, as I was told it would be better and more believable if he is doing welding work there instead. I managed to get the kinks out, about 99%. So I'm satisfied with it. Now, I have a couple more details to add, at least for now.

When I saw your first photos I began to add some tags but had to view the rest of the thread to make sure that it was a model as it looked so realistic. Nice work mate

tags added :)

HIHI! Always one of the best compliments a modeler can get. Thank you.

Fantastic job!!!

Appreciate it. Thank you.

If you've noticed, I've removed the sidings, as I was not completely satisfied with them. Also, they were out of scale.

Have done some changes since the last update:

1. Re-arranges a couple of the figures

2. Added oil spills and oil absorbents(they are basically materials used to help soak up as much oil spills as possible.

3. Re-arranged the cab and pallets to make room for a forklift(still contemplating if it will remain)

4. Added a couple of fire extinguishers. Will have to add a couple of signs too.

5. I managed to straighten out the kink in the overhead crane. Probably not 100% perfect but way better than in the last update.

Things left to do:

1. Add a figure in the forklift( only if I decided to keep it).

2. Some minute details.

3. A couple of signs.

And whatever comes to mind that will fit the space. Hope you like what you see. Until the next update. Thanks for looking.

Absolutely mind-blowing level of detail. How many hours have you invested so far . It will be a treat to see you working at your workstation. Also a noob question : how much % of the diorama do you have to make out of scratch?

WOW notworthy;
Awesome work!!!

Glad you like the results.

Thank you. Sorry for the very late reply. It took awhile to put everything together as I do lots of research before starting a project, just to be on the safe side. Maybe it took a little under a month to complete. The overhead crane is a modified 1:87 model crane with some scratch building involved. The Entire I-beam is scratch built. The yellow mobile stair way was also scratched. The D9 removal parts and bolts were modified and some details scratch built, among other smaller details, to fir the scene.
It looks really great, nice work.
Thank you.
