The Tápio 2021 Joint Exercise whit USAF simulate an irregular war scenario in which the Brazilian Air Force could operate within the framework of a Peace Mission promoted by the United Nations Organization. In this sense, the presence of regular and irregular troops in the field of operations is a possibility, and the coordination and synergy between the Squadrons deployed in the exercises should increase.
In this context, the presence of two search and rescue helicopters HH-60G Pave Hawk stands out, which arrived in Brazil in recent days carried by a C-17 Globemaster III of the 105th Airlift Wing, a unit belonging to the New York Air Guard.
The second Phase of the Tápio 2021 Joint Exercise, focusing on Mato Grosso do Sul, focuses on developing search and rescue missions using H-36 Caracal helicopters from Falcão Squadron (1st / 8th GAV), Sikorsky H-60 Black Hawk and S aircraft. -105 Amazonas, the last used for the insertion of Space Forces personnel by parachute in the area of operations.
In close air support tasks, the A-29s are complemented in advanced Air Control missions by the A-1 AMX belonging to the Centauro Squadron (3rd / 10th GAV), which attack and suppress the adversary’s air defenses that have been identified.
