Nui Dat, South Vietnam. April 1971. Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Sir Thomas Daly, paid a farewell visit to soldiers at the 1st Australian Task Force Base (1ATF) at Nui Dat. The birthday of the Armoured Corps, Cambrai Day, in November 1970 being observed by the crews of Centurion tanks from A Squadron, 1st Armoured Regiment and APCs from B Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment. The parade took place at Nui Dat.

The chromed case of the 60,000th 105mm artillery round fired in support of 5th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (5RAR), is presented to the Battalion Commander, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Colin Khan of Woollahra, NSW (left), by the Battery Commander of the 105th Battery, Major L. A. Thompson of Camberwell, Vic. Lt Col Khan fired the round from a Battery howitzer at the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) Base.

Nui Dat, South Vietnam. February 1970. The Tiger Battalion, 5th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (5RAR), remembers fallen comrades at a memorial parade. The Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Colin Khan of Woollahra, NSW, is framed against a steel sword set in concrete which is a memorial to the unit's dead. The service, part of 5RAR's farewell parade, was held just before the Battalion left for Australia aboard HMAS Sydney. During its tour of duty 5RAR lost twenty five soldiers but killed 353 enemy: a ratio of fourteen to one.
