Could have been an ambush. Maybe they were resting and caught completly off-guard.

If I were you, mate I wouldn't put to much stock in pan-turk expansionist fantasies, the Azeri population of Iran is nowhere near as large as Turkish and Azerbaijani propaganda would make us believe and nowhere near as separatist either.

I come from a half-Persian/half-Kurdish family of Iranians with lots of uncles and male cousins, guess what they all have in common? They all have Azeri wives, good luck trying to establish an ethnostate under those conditions.

Unlike the people in the Republic of Turkey Iranians aren't at each others' throats over their ethnic backgrounds, riots or no this BS won't carry far in Iran.

This is all but not confirmed. Unlike dozens other pictures no hit was recorded just blurred picture of well known position.

Sorry but I would kindly recommend you to read my message with your utmost attention and find out where exactly I mentioned about "Pan-Turkism". Even in Turkey these kind of ideas are believed by some uthopic extreme-right groups and highschool boys who are seeing as a joke by most.

I was not pointing out that Iranian Azeri's would revolt against Iran, a state that has no place for joke on maintaining a rigid internal security system and strong intelligence. I was just pointing out that the potential impact of the conflict may pave its way through Iran (just like other regional conflicts) but not in a scale of armed resistence or civil war of course...
