Private 4443 Thomas STOPPARD, 6th Sherwood Foresters, killed in action on the Somme, France
on the 18th august 1916 aged 35. He was the son of Samuel and Lizzie
of Market Street Clay Cross. Buried at Bellacourt Military...
The memorial plaque is in St Mary's the parish church and is dedicated three men of the Sherwood Foresters and is part of a memorial window (See Memorial Windows)
