Private 4443 Thomas STOPPARD, 6th Sherwood Foresters, killed in action on the Somme, France
on the 18th august 1916 aged 35. He was the son of Samuel and Lizzie
of Market Street Clay Cross. Buried at Bellacourt Military Cemetery, Riviere, France

His brother John Richard also served in the army in the Great War (see John Richard Stoppard, Old H M Forces)
