Husband of Lilian Violet nee Trott who he married in 1916, was granted a war gratuity 16 May 1917 revised 16 December 1919, surname changed to Smith.
Killed in action in France on the 4th March 1917 aged 25
Commemorated on a family headstone in Clay Cross Cemetery, Derbyshire also commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France
