South Vietnam, January, 1967: UH-1D helicopter extracts wounded soldiers from a landing zone carved out by Bravo Company, 4th Battalion, 503rd Parachute Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade during Operation Cedar Falls in the "Iron Triangle" near Saigon. More than 30,000 U.S. troops and several South Vietnamese infantry brigades took part in Cedar Falls, the largest assault of the war to that point.
