Gunner 5164 George Bailey Royal Marine Artillery of HMS King Edward VII
Born 25 April 1872 at Felpham, Arundel, Sussex to George and Charlotte Bailey, nee Bennett.
1881 with his mother and siblings at the home of his grandparents, Joseph and Philley Bennett in Pagham, Sussex.

Notes from her service record
Enlisted 19 March 1895 at Private Eastrey Barracks, Kent. First ship he was sent to was HMS Resolution 17 September 1895
He re-engaged whilst on HMS King Edward VII 15 March 1906. He fell ill whilst on HMS King Edward III which was at dockside in the Grand Harbour, Malta and was admitted on shore into Bighi Naval Hospital, Malta. He died on the morning of the 12 June in hospital, he was aged 39 of Myocardial Oedem. (M.C.O.)

Gunner 5164 George Bailey, Royal Marine Artillery on HMS King Edward VII died yesterday morning, 11 June 1913 age 39 at R.N.Hospital Bighi, Malta. He was laid to rest on the morning 12th with the usual naval honours at New Bighi Cemetery. Died of (M.C.O.) Myocardial Oedem
